Chi Gung: Lacking energy during your workweek? Do you feel like you want to do something for your health but not sure what? Try our Chi Gung class! Chi Gung is an ancient Chinese regimen of health and longevity practices for all ages. Literally it means “working with the breath” and focuses primarily on breathing techniques, but also contains movement and flexibility training. Our Chi Gung class combines elements from traditional Chi Gung, Taoist Yoga and WingTsun movements geared specifically for health and mobility purposes. WT Fit: Lose 10 lbs in 10 weeks! Feel better about yourself, get in shape and get confident. Our WT Fit class is a 45-minute intense workout that works the whole body from head to toe. WT Fit begins with joint mobility drills and ends with flexibility exercises to make the workout complete. Heavy bag training and pad work to improve stamina and strength followed by ab-work and good old fashioned sweat are the bread and butter of this class. Fundamentals of Kettlebells: City WingTsun is proud to offer a monthly kettlebell training class. Russian kettlebell training is an integrated fitness methodology which offers the cutting edge of strength-training science with modern teaching didactic and focus on proper body mechanics. The kettlebell in this way can be viewed as a tool in which to improve body mechanics and improve the functional movement of our bodies. A far cry from pernicious weight training routines at the gym! This class is currently offered once a month to City WingTsun students only. City WT students will then have regular access to kettlebells to continue their training.
TACTICAL TRAINING & SEMINARS
Practical Weapons Training: Let’s face it- in this modern society the likelihood of needing an ancient kung fu weapon on the street is very low. No one will attack you with a three-sectional staff, or come flying at you in a Bruce Lee inspired nunchuku rage. This does not mean that weapons training is not needed – far from it! In a dangerous situation, an everyday object can be use to help balance the odds in your favor. Our practical weapons training will teach you how to translate the skills of simple stick-fighting into the use of everyday objects (keys, umbrellas, magazines) into a powerful defense. This class is currently offered monthly to City WingTsun students only.
Seminars: City WingTsun offers regular seminars with guest-instructors such as Grandmaster Leung Ting and Sifu Carson Lau. Sifu Alex also teaches regular workshops, both in his school and outside.
